What faucet, shower-head or microwave does my quote include?
Perhaps the most common question we get from customers during the quoting process centers on product selection. To get your quote back to you in a timely manner, we have included a material budget that we feel will cover the average range of selections for each area of your remodel. Once you select Envision Renovations as your contractor, we will discuss each and every selection in detail to make sure you get exactly what you want in your project. If you want a special showerhead or you find an oven on Houzz that you just HAVE to have after we have had our initial visit…That’s great- We will get that item for you and are happy that you found something that will make you love your new space even more. While there may be small changes in cost due to your selections, most of our customers give us a good idea of the type of selections they are interested in during our visit, so any price differences are minimized.
Can I use my bathroom/kitchen etc. during remodel?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. When we start working on your home, the job is tackled in pre-determined stages, and these stages typically take more than one day to complete. During this time your home will have things like exposed pipes or electrical work that is being changed, or plumbing that needs to be moved or reinstalled, and a fair amount of mess and dust. Even if we finish an area of your shower during a bathroom remodel, it is still not a good idea to try to use that space while we are working in the rest of the room. While we always do our best to keep our work area clean, there may be dust, dirt, or sharp tools around that could be a hazard for you and your family. We think it is best for our customers to simply plan on not accessing the area we are working in.
How long will my remodel take?
Before we begin your project, Vince and Brandon will be able to give you a good estimate of when the work should be finished. While we do our best to stick to the quoted timeline, sometimes we find additional things that have to be taken care of when we start working on your home. In most instances, these things are minor, like an extra day to fix some leaky old pipes we find behind your bathroom wall. But sometimes the problems can cause a more significant delay, like finding rodent infestations or mold behind walls. If we come across things like this, it is a good thing- because you likely didn’t know they were there, and you already have us there to help fix the issue or refer you someone who can. The bottom line is we are your partner in your remodel, and we will do everything we can to get your project completed as fast as we can, with the best quality work possible. We don’t want to inconvenience you in any way.
Do I need to be home during the day?
The short answer is no, the majority of our customers are hardworking people with busy families and crazy schedules. We don’t want to be in your way or cause a significant interruption to your schedule. 99% of our customers provide us a key to their home at the beginning of the project, to allow our team to work during the day, and also keep their home secure when we step away for lunch or for a quick trip to Home Depot (our fav place in the world!). On the other hand, some customers prefer to stay home and check out the action during the day which is fine too. Our standard working hours are 8-4, but those hours can vary with your permission to get started earlier, or work later. Again- We want to make you happy, so anyway we can make your life easier, just let us know. We are happy to work around your schedule.
